Gone to Pinehurst

The new year has ushered in brutal winter weather in Ohio and the Dee Hotton Stable shipped south to Pinehurst, North Carolina, just in time to avoid the worst of it, but not without getting a parting blast before leaving.

Ohio weather contributed to trainer Dee Hotton's 4-horse trailer getting a crunched side and a bent axle as she tried to leave the State on December 28th. A motorist slid out-of-control on an ice-covered road going down a hill and slammed into the side of Hotton's trailer, loaded only with stable supplies, as she was attempting to go up the hill. The mis-hap delayed her trip south by a day, but happily reported she and the horses all arrived in Pinehurst safe and sound.

A late addition going south with the stable was Robert Slowey's 2-year-old trotting colt, JO, by SUPERSTAR SAHBRA, out of his broodmare, EMILY.
