The Season of Hope

The first stakes payments are due next Monday for the colts and fillies hoping to race this summer in Sires Stakes and the many Fair Stakes opportunities that exist in this part of the country. Trainer, Dee Hotton, recently sent a short and succinct report from Pinehurst, North Carolina on the progress of the horses under her care:

The new year has ushered in brutal winter weather in Ohio and the Dee Hotton Stable shipped south to Pinehurst, North Carolina, just in time to avoid the worst of it, but not without getting a parting blast before leaving.

Samsawinner's Bakers Dozen

Samsawinner, added one more to the win column at Northfield Park on Saturday night with Dan Charlino in the race bike. Taking full advantage of a drop in class to a $2,800 condition-claiming trot, Charlino drove the horse to the lead past the quarter-pole and timed the mile perfectly to get the victory, while setting a new lifetime mark on Samsawinner of 1:59.3h. The 3-year-old trotter now has a dozen wins out of his 31 starts this year as his Sophomore racing season ends.

Stable Roster Growing

The Dee Hotton Stable has recently added two trotting yearlings to the stable roster. An Ohio eligible filly by Trainforthefuture, out of the mare Rose Run Gina: ROSE RUN MISTY, who was purchased out of the November Blooded Horse Sale. Arriving at the stable on Friday was, a New York eligible filly, SWING ANNA CASH, sired by Cash Hall out of the broodmare Swing Anna Miss.
