The Season of Hope

Posted in Stable News by webmaster on 12/13/2009Samsawinner, added one more to the win column at Northfield Park on Saturday night with Dan Charlino in the race bike. Taking full advantage of a drop in class to a $2,800 condition-claiming trot, Charlino drove the horse to the lead past the quarter-pole and timed the mile perfectly to get the victory, while setting a new lifetime mark on Samsawinner of 1:59.3h. The 3-year-old trotter now has a dozen wins out of his 31 starts this year as his Sophomore racing season ends.
Stable Roster Growing

An Ohio eligible filly by Trainforthefuture, out of the mare Rose Run Gina: ROSE RUN MISTY, who was purchased out of the November Blooded Horse Sale. Arriving at the stable on Friday was, a New York eligible filly, SWING ANNA CASH, sired by Cash Hall out of the broodmare Swing Anna Miss. Read More...
Looking for Old Wayne County Fair Win Pictures
Posted in General by webmaster on 11/06/2009As part of an ongoing research project about the Wayne County Fair, located in Wooster, Ohio, it was discovered that we have had horse racing at the Fair since 1869.
I have asked a number of people when it became popular to hire a photographer and take a picture of the winning horse? When did the idea of a win picture come into vogue? When did a win picture photographer show up at the Wayne County Fair: 1920's, 1940's, 1960's? Nobody seems to remember, or know. Read More...Categories
