2010 was a great year for the Dee Hotton Stable! Racing only nine horses: one aged, two 3-year-olds, and six 2-year-olds (five of which were fillies), the stable was able to end the year with the highest earnings ever recorded by trainer Dee Hotton since she started training horses in 1991.
Going to post 107 times she tallied 29 wins, 13 seconds, and 20 thirds, with the horses totaling $154,144 in earnings. Which resulted in the best year ever: surpassing her previous high earnings year of $140,928 set in 2005 while racing the equine ATM trotting machine, Glory Bound, and the Ohio Sire Stakes trotting fillies, Fresh Honey and Ily Lavec.
When you ask Hotton what made 2010 such a spectacular year, she credits having some of the best horse owners in the state of Ohio and having reliable conscientious help.
You really have to give these people kudos for sticking with Ohio racing during these tough times and continuing to support my stable and the industry.
In other stable news, Dee Hotton reports her highest earning horse this year, the 3-year-old trotter Buckeye Man, has been sold and will continue his racing career out East for his new connections.
The stable is currently making preparations to ship South to the Pinehurst, North Carolina training facility on December 28, 2010 and plans to stay there until April 27, 2011. With frigid temperatures and large amounts of lake effect snow already blanketing northern Ohio, Dee says she looks forward to getting on the road and heading South for the winter!
All team members of the Dee Hotton Stable wish you happy holidays and a great 2011 race year!
